- How to operate
- Draw a line with the pointer, press Play at the bottom of the screen to play, and press Stop to return to editing. Draw from left to right to create the floor, draw from right to left to create the ceiling, and hold down Shift while drawing to reverse the direction.

``Line Rider'' is an interactive toy in which a sled rider runs along a line drawn by the player. Create a course with the pencil or straight line tool, proceed with the physics calculations with Play, and return to editing with Stop. Rather than chasing a set goal, the focus is on the back and forth between drawing and playback itself.

This is an editing screen where a slope continuing to the bottom right is drawn using the pencil tool. Pencil, line, eraser, selection, move, and zoom tools are lined up at the top, and playback controls at the bottom of the screen allow you to play and stop.

Draw a course with a pencil and straight line tool
When you draw a line with the pointer, that line becomes the course for the sled rider. In addition to the pencil, it has a straight line, eraser, selection, movement, and zoom, so you can adjust the position and shape of the line even after drawing it.
Differential use of line direction and single-sided collision
Lines have a direction; if you draw them from left to right, they act as a floor, and if you draw them from right to left, they act as a ceiling. The black side will collide with the rider, and the colored side will pass, so even if the shape is the same, its movement will change depending on the direction you draw it.
Check the movement by going back and forth between playing and stopping
You can advance the physics simulation with Play and return to editing with Stop. You can move the timeline to see any point in time, and onion skins can overlay the rider's trajectory.
