ABOUT THE GAME

Make one day's worth of newspapers.

The Republia Times is a newspaper editing simulation published in 2012 by Lucas Pope. The player is appointed as the editor-in-chief of the fictional country Republia, reads the articles that arrive, and decides what to publish in the paper. The author's official introduction describes the work's starting point as a mission to print positive articles that make the country look good.

01

Select publication content from article candidates

Multiple article candidates are presented for each day's edit. Check the headline and content and select the article to be published in the paper. The structure handles not only the positive articles indicated by the official introduction, but also the interests of readers and the demands of the nation on the same editorial screen.

02

Place headings in limited space

Articles have a size on paper, and the selected content will be published by fitting it into the empty space in the newspaper. In addition to choosing what to choose, a day's worth of editing work also includes deciding which articles to use the limited space for.

03

Readership and loyalty updated daily

After publication, the number of people who read the newspaper and the loyalty of the people will be displayed. The starting instructions give you a goal to reach 20 loyalty points within 3 days, and link article selection to the two metrics.
