Controls and goals
- How to operate
- Move with WASD and press E near the item to examine it. Use E for explanations and conversations. JOGAR on the start screen means "play", and SAIR means "end".
- Goal
- Collect 10 recipes and 7 old letters to trace the story of the past. Start with JOGAR, close the guide with E, then approach the sweets on the top left platform and press E.
ABOUT THE GAME
Collect food and writings at the monastery
``Pães e Pergaminhos'' is an exploration game that follows monk Klaus Miller as he spends a day at the Monastery of São Bento in São Paulo. Walk from a top-down perspective, collect baked goods and old letters from visitors, and learn about food culture and stories from the past.
GAMEPLAY
Read the description and collect the recipe
Press the E key near the candy to see the ingredient description and Klaus' words. When you finish reading the conversation, the sweets will disappear from the table and the number of recipes collected at the top left of the screen will increase.

Walking inside the monastery
The story takes place in 1925 at the Monastery of Sao Bento. Move Klaus to look down and walk towards the items placed on the stand or shelf.
Read food description
When you examine the sweets, the name, ingredients, and a short conversation from Klaus will appear. In the opening section, Biscoitos Lumen, the materials are explained and then family memories are told.
From recipes to old letters
The in-game instructions involve collecting 10 recipes in the first stage and finding 7 old letters in the second stage. The structure follows the story from the writings of people who visited the monastery in the past.

Play notes
- Language
- The current official web version is only in Portuguese. It is necessary to read materials, letters, and progress instructions, and there is no Japanese display. Receitas refers to recipes, Ingredientes refers to ingredients, and Pergaminhos refers to scrolls and old documents.
- Scale/Time
- The official version says it's a short story, but it doesn't indicate the specific length of time it will take. The items to collect are 10 recipes and 7 letters from the in-game guide.
- Fees/Environment
- You can play for free on your PC browser. Start from Run game on the distribution page. Support for the author is voluntary.
