ABOUT THE GAME
One vampire.
Eight numbered cards.
In "High Stakes," nine cards are dealt face-down each round. These consist of one each of the number cards 2 through 9, plus one vampire card. Revealing a number card increases the stakes, while revealing a vampire card means losing the round. Use the revealed numbers and any unlocked hints to decide whether to proceed to the next card.
HINT TOKEN
Reveal a column,
and gain more clues.
On the board for the first round, the number 8 is face-up, with "5+" and "2+" hints displayed nearby. The hint token on the right indicates that it will be unlocked once all the cards in that column have been revealed.

The stakes rise as you flip more cards.
Each time you reveal a numbered card, the round's stakes increase. You win by revealing all the numbered cards or by successfully driving a stake into a vampire; however, if you flip over a vampire, you lose. The mechanic ensures that as the number of revealed cards grows, so too does the stake.
Rows and columns serve as hints.
Completing a row or column unlocks the corresponding hint token. Reducing the number of face-down cards provides clues that help narrow down the vampire's location.
Drive a stake, or fold?
If you think you’ve figured out where the vampire is, you can take a shot by choosing "Stake." Alternatively, you can "Pass" to keep the current stake, though this incurs a penalty—officially defined as the value of two cards. In "Version 3," your current "Streak" is also factored into this amount. Over the course of five rounds per match, you must decide when to press your luck and when to walk away.
Avoid the vampires,
and flip the next card.
