ABOUT THE GAME
From one button,
Go to the room, the forest, and explore.
A Dark Room is a minimalist text adventure published by doublespeak games. The first central operation you see is "lighting a fire." The official press kit describes it as a work in which the world slowly unfolds with the press of a single button, revealing new layers of information and operations.
FROM ROOM TO FOREST
Outside the room where the fire is lit,
A quiet forest appears.
In the room, you will be notified of the fire status with a short text, and when the forest opens, the operation to collect wood and the display of storage will be added. In the official implementation, new buildings, crafting, and roles will be added gradually based on the resources collected.

Convey status with short notifications and few buttons
The official press kit describes the game as a minimalist text adventure, featuring an intuitive and atmospheric interface. The coldness and fire status of the room are stacked as short sentences on the left side of the screen.
Expanding from wood to architecture and resource management
In the official web version implementation, items for collecting wood in the forest, keeping a fire in the room, and building and production will be added when the necessary resources are gathered. After the population and roles appear, increases and decreases in resources are also managed in a list.
New screens and operations open gradually
The official press kit describes a structure that reveals layers of information and manipulation as it progresses. Later on the map screen, movement using arrow keys, WASD, and clicks will be implemented, and the operation will be different from the one at the beginning.
